The True Story Behind WhichPlanet
Mark Greenwood's journey began on a council estate in the North of England, where ambition arrived long before success.

At around sixteen years old, Mark watched a sharply dressed man pull up in a white Ford Escort wearing an immaculate suit and a pair of dark sunglasses. To a teenager growing up with very little, he looked like the very definition of success.
Curious, Mark asked him what he did for a living.
“I'm an estate agent,” came the reply.
That single conversation changed the course of Mark's life.
Determined to follow the same path, he wrote his name and telephone number on small pieces of white card and personally delivered them to every local estate agent, asking for an opportunity as a trainee.
Of all the firms that could have called him back, it was the very same estate agent who had inspired him that day.
Mark threw himself into the profession, progressing through the ranks until he became a senior manager. But along the way he noticed something else. Many of the wealthy property investors who regularly visited the offices drove luxury cars and seemed to possess a level of financial freedom that fascinated him.
Rather than simply selling them property, Mark began asking questions.
He wanted to understand how they built their wealth.
Eventually, he bought the estate agency where he worked and began investing in property himself. Borrowing heavily and taking calculated risks, he steadily built a portfolio of around one hundred properties, creating significant personal wealth.
Away from business, Mark attended jujitsu classes led by future UFC Middleweight Champion Michael “The Count” Bisping. Recognising Bisping's determination and potential, Mark became one of his early sponsors, supporting him during his UK MMA career before helping fund his opportunity to compete on The Ultimate Fighter in the United States. Bisping went on to win the competition and ultimately became UFC Middleweight World Champion.
Then everything changed.
As the global financial crisis unfolded, banks around the world began to fail. During this period, false defaults were registered against Mark's credit profile, providing his principal lender with grounds to foreclose on his property portfolio.
Almost overnight, everything he had spent years building disappeared.
Many people would have accepted defeat.
Mark chose to start again.
Believing teaching offered security during uncertain economic times, he attended college and qualified as a teacher. After completing classroom placements, however, he realised it wasn't the career he wanted.
He returned to university and studied law, qualifying once again, only to conclude that legal practice wasn't where his passion lay either.
Drawing on his extensive experience in the property industry, Mark embarked on yet another challenge—qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor. The profession proved to be a natural fit, and he went on to build a successful career advising public sector organisations on property and asset strategy.
Yet despite his professional success, Mark still wanted to build something extraordinary.
Having previously earned an Honours Degree in Media, he decided to combine his technical knowledge, creative skills and lifelong curiosity into something entirely different.
Inspired by the Pentagon's release of UAP footage and the growing movement towards official disclosure, Mark created Visitors UAP—an interactive global platform designed to map, catalogue and explore documented UFO and UAP cases.
He later applied the same interactive globe technology to create Earth of Ages, allowing users to explore the history of our planet through time.
As the vision expanded, it became clear these weren't standalone projects—they were the beginning of something much bigger.
Today, both platforms have evolved into WhichPlanet.com: a growing network of immersive, interactive worlds, each built around a different subject.
From Alien Planet and Time Planet to Animal Planet, Foodie Planet, Paranormal Planet and many more to come, the mission remains the same:
To create the world's most engaging collection of interactive knowledge platforms—where curiosity is rewarded, exploration is effortless, and every planet offers a new adventure.
